10 Most Brutal Motocross Crashes Of All Time

4. Mike Alessi At Red Bud, 2008

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PYSAApmCxVw In what some will call Mike Alessi€™s most successful career as a Pro he was injured in a horrific crash at the Red Bud AMA National. While part of the Makita Suzuki team in 2008 Alessi showed great speed. He was the only rider within touching distance of a totally dominant James Stewart. In moto two of the fifth round of the series Alessi got a good start and looked ready to fight for a race win. Instead his race, and season, would come crashing to an end. He bobbled before a small ski-jump throwing him into the face of the jump hard and seemingly knocking him unconscious. What was already a hard crash was to get much worse, as multiple riders in the chasing pack were unable to avoid his motionless body, many of them landing directly on him. Alessi broke both scapula€™s, a rib, another rib close to his c4 vertebrae, and a severe concussion.
