10 Most Capped Players At World Cup 2018

1. Essam El-Hadary (158) - Egypt

Not only the oldest player at this World Cup, but also the oldest player in the tournament's entire history, Egypt's Essam El-Hadary started playing for the national side before some of his teammates had even been born! His international career began in 1996, making him one of the longest-serving international players of all time.

At club level, he's spent most of his time in Egypt but did have a season in Europe with Swiss side Sion. A four-time Africa Cup of Nations winner, El-Hadary has earned a place of pride in Egyptian footballing history and is regarded as one of the greatest players the nation has ever produced.

This summer, he'll be captaining his country and making his first ever World Cup appearance. He's the most-capped man at the tournament and still possesses incredible agility and shot-stopping skills in spite of his age. It will be a proud day for the 45-year-old when he walks out for Egypt's first group game against Uruguay on June 15, and it would be an even more memorable moment if he can keep a clean sheet.
