More often than not, the best Rangers victories over Celtic have come against the odds. The media in Scotland has regularly tried to paint Celtic as the superior side going into Old Firm clashes, but this usually acts as motivation for Rangers to prove just how wrong those claims are. After all, Rangers hold more wins over Celtic than vice versa, and it was business as usual on February 28th, 2010. A draw at Ibrox wouldn't have been the worst result for Rangers, because they would still have maintained control over the SPL Title race, but a late strike from American midfielder Maurice Edu entered the history books as soon as it had crossed the line. This was yet another example of the sheer will Walter Smith demanded from his players, and was typical of a Rangers side that refused to stop playing until the final whistle. The 50,000 inside Ibrox went utterly crazy after Edu prodded home from close range, after an insane scramble inside the Celtic box. Fans in green and white went home feeling sick, and as well they might, because there was very little between both sides before Edu came up with the goods. Beating your main rivals is always tasty, but even more so when it happens in the final seconds of a match.
