One of the most well respected and adored players of the Premier League era, Juninho made his original move to England back in 1995, when he signed for Middlesbrough following their promotion to the Premier League.

The skillful and diminutive Brazilian midfielder was courted by a whole host of Europe's top clubs at the time, and his decision to sign for Boro was a shock to everyone at the time.

He would soon settle in though, quickly harnessing the nickname of 'The Little Fella' on Teesside, where he would go on become adored by the Middlesbrough faithful due to his passion, commitment, and exciting performances week in week out.

Juninho would ultimately leave the club after two seasons when Middlesbrough were relegated thanks to a points deduction. The image of Juninho sat sobbing is one of the most heart wrenching moments we have seen in Premier League history, with the player himself knowing he would have to leave the club to pursue his dream of playing in the World Cup.

A move to Atletico Madrid followed, but he would return five years later for a second permament spell in Teesside to much fanfare.
