In one of the most surprising moves in modern times, newly promoted Leicester City pulled off one of the major coups in Premier League history when they captured Argentinian international Cambiasso.

The Foxes had only just won promotion to the Premier League, and Cambiasso had been instrumental in a successful period at Inter which had seen them win the Champions League and Serie A title under Jose Mourinho.

The combative midfielder could have signed for a whole host of Europe's top clubs, but arrived in the East Midlands and created quite a stir among Leicester fans. It would turn out to be a fairy tale season for Cambiasso, as his performances endeared him to the Foxes faithful and he picked up the player of the year award at the King Power, voted for by fans.

He rejected the chance to stay on, but his move to Leicester showed the club they could attract big names and compete, and the club would go on to win the Premier League title the following season under Claudio Ranieri.
