10 Most Under-Rated Newcastle Players Ever

5. Temuri Ketsbaia

Newcastle United: 1998-2004 League Appearances: 78 League Goals: 8
The Georgian is best-remembered for his bizarre celebration after scoring the last-minute winner against Bolton Wanderers in 1998 - when he removed his top, ran towards the touchline and then continuously booted the advertising hoardings. A celebration the like of which has never been seen before or since, Temuri Ketsbaia offered so much more than that during his time on Tyneside between 1997 and 2000. Adept on the ball, a strong presence in midfield and a player with a no-nonsense approach, the 49-cap Georgian was the backbone of the Magpies side. He was never going to set the world alight, but Ketsbaia helped Newcastle to two consecutive FA Cup finals - and aided their survival in the Premier League during a couple of rocky seasons in the late-1990s.
