10 NFL Players Who Are Having Surprisingly Great Seasons

I can guarantee that no one else’s individual player lists would ever have a center and a strong safety at the top two spots, but that’s what makes me special. I’ve been told I think I’m smarter than I probably am, which is why my list looks different than most of yours, but make no mistake Paradis and Collins deserve these top two spots.

Landon Collins was a part of a historically bad defense last year and his performance didn’t help. He led the team in tackles, but his coverage ability was desperately lacking, which is something we knew of him coming out of the draft. Collins was known as a run-stuffing safety at Alabama when the New York Giants drafted him in the second round last year.

This year he has proved everyone wrong and learned how to cover. Even before his two interception game against Los Angeles, he was showing that he could be trusted to play deep zones and coverage usually reserved for ball hawks and phenomenal athletes.

He’s still a great run-stuffing safety as he is on track for over 100 tackles this year but his astronomical leap in coverage is why he’s number one on this list.

Did I miss anyone that you think should be recognized for having a surprisingly great 2016? Do you not agree with me at all? Let me know in the comments below and on twitter at @StopskyandG.
