David Boston racked up a couple of sterling seasons with the Arizona Cardinals, after amassing 1,156 and 1,598 receiving yards in 2000 and 2001 respectively. He followed those totals up with an injury-hit campaign, but the San Diego Chargers still stumped up the cash for a $47 million, 7-year contract. Boston mustered 880 yards, lower than his excessive price tag should command, but the major problems came with Coach Marty Schottenheimer who suspended Boston for a game after swearing at one of the Bolts' coaches. He soon left the West coast side with Schottenheimer criticising his attitude and lack of effort in training, despite the multi-million dollars heading his way.
