10 Players Who Didn't Fulfil Their Potential At Arsenal

Another ex Arsenal player who has made a short trip across London to another club is Marouane Chamakh, now of Crystal Palace. The Moroccan was signed to boost Arsenal's attacking options in 2010, off the back of managing to score in six consecutive Champions League games with former club Bordeaux. Big things were expected of Chamakh when he arrived at the Emirates. At first it even seemed as if he was going to live up to these expectations; the striker netted ten times in all competitions before November of his first season. After this, however, Chamakh's form dropped dramatically and he fell quickly out of the Gunners' starting line-up. Missing large chunks at the end of this season, Chamakh's fitness was cited as an issue. By the time the next season had started Chamakh had already become a fringe player at the Emirates and he made less than twenty appearances in his second season. After a fairly innocuous loan spell with West Ham, Chamakh signed a permanent move to Crystal Palace where he has now managed to re-establish a starting place for himself. Contrary to the failings of his Arsenal days, Chamakh has become somewhat of a workhorse at Palace and is actually starting to fulfil some potential with his new club. That potential was certainly not lived up to with Arsenal, however,
