4. Scott Sinclair
Scott Sinclair's current situation is a shame for both the player and for England fans. A promising young midfielder, now 25 years old, he has completely faded away from top-flight football in the last two seasons. Scoring
28 league goals in two seasons for Swansea, Sinclair impressed many pundits and managers alike. Tipped as a future star for England, the classy midfielder was tempted by a move to Manchester City in 2012 in search of success as well as money. Since his
£6.2 million move, Sinclair has been plagued by niggling injuries and also found it almost impossible to break into the City starting eleven. During the 2012/13 season, he played a
total of 190 minutes of league football, less than three full matches. He was loaned out to West Bromwich Albion for the 2013/14 season but again, due to a lack of match practice and confidence, he struggled to make it into the first team. City and Sinclair are looking to arrange a permanent move for the player, but having made just
seven appearances for West Brom last season, The Hawthorns may not be the venue for the move. It is a great shame that Sinclair has not been able to fulfil his potential at City as he is undoubtedly a terrific young talent. A combination of injuries, a lack of match practice and too much competition for places have ultimately led to the slump in his form.
