10 Players Who Didn't Fulfil Their Potential At Spurs

1. Giovani Dos Santos

When Giovani Dos Santos arrived at Spurs - from Barcelona, no less - for around £4.7 million (an apparent bargain), much was expected from the little Mexican. Having broken in to the Barca first team, his last game for the club saw him score a hat trick against Real Murcia, in a 5€“3 victory on the last game of the 2007-08 season. Dos Santos really ended up struggling with the physical demands of the Premier League - and English football in general - and he didn't really make his mark with Spurs. He made seventeen league appearances - only two of which were from the start - and he failed to score a single goal. Sixteen appearances in cup competitions saw a return of three goals and it simply wasn't good enough. Loan spells at Ipswich Town, Galatasaray and Racing Santander saw mixed feedback on the player, but he would ultimately move to Mallorca permanently in 2012 and he has since forged a successful career at Villarreal. His success at international level and in La Liga makes his poor form at Spurs hard to fathom and it really was a waste of four years of his and Spurs' time for him to have played in England. So there you have it - ten players who didn't fulfil their potential at Tottenham Hotspur Football Club. Did you like this article? Do you agree with the entries on the list?
