10 Players Who Didn't Fulfil Their Potential At Spurs
2. John Bostock
When Spurs signed John Bostock from Crystal Palace in 2008, he was a sixteen year old with the world at his feet. Even at that young age, he had already made five appearances for the Selhurst Park club - four of which had come in the league - and a fee of £700,000 plus add-ons was agreed at a tribunal, after the two clubs couldn't agree a deal between them. So good was Bostock that many people expected him to make an immediate impact at White Hart Lane and, at the very least, they expected him to become a key first team player in the years to come - but that was not to be. In his five years at White Hart Lane, Bostock made just four appearances for the club - all of which were from the bench and none of which were in the league - and he was loaned out no less than five times to Brentford, Hull City, Sheffield Wednesday, Swindon Town and Toronto F.C. - before being released in 2013 without having made any kind of impact in London. He now plays for Royal Antwerp in Belgium, where he is impressing - it's just a shame that he couldn't do the same at Spurs.
