10 Players Most Likely To Join Manchester United This Summer

6. Cristiano Ronaldo - 7/1

Armando Franca/AP/Press Association ImagesArmando Franca/AP/Press Association ImagesCurrent Club: Real Madrid There's barely a month goes by without someone speculating that Portugal's most famous footballing son isn't quite as happy as he should be at Real Madrid, even with a comically massive contract and the adulation of the club's fans. Sometimes it's because he's supposedly not feeling cherished, or there's the unwanted competition from Gareth Bale for Madrid's most important Galactico, or maybe he's just in one of those huffs where it's best not to even ask: whatever the suggested reason, the usual suggested solution is that he ups and leaves back to Manchester. The Premier League needs players like Cristiano Ronaldo - if only for the validation that it is the most important league in the world - and Ronaldo needs the gold-fish bowl attention of the Premier League, but that doesn't mean that the bookies are right to offer such short odds on him returning to the club where he made his name. Actual Likelihood Of Move: Seriously Slim. Yes, he might return to United if and when he decides to call time on his Madrid career, but would one of the world's most attention-hungry players really choose to sign for ANY club without Champions League football? No, he wouldn't.
