10 Players Most Likely To Join Manchester United This Summer
7. Theo Walcott - 6/4
Current Club: Arsenal With the acquisition of Alexis Sanchez, Arsenal now have an embarrassment of riches available in attacking midfield, and that might signal that the end is nigh for England's pacy attacker, especially with the £32m or so the Gunners paid for Sanchez making some financial recouping necessary. Sanchez and Walcott would probably be direct competitors, and it's unlikely that Wenger would look too far past the Chilean after that sort of investment, which is why the odds on Walcott's departure have been slashed. Even if he moved into a more central role, Walcott would sace considerable competition from the likes of Santi Cazorla, Mesut Ozil, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Lukas Podolski, Tomas Rosicky, Walcott, Jack Wilshere and even Serge Gnabry, and he's unlikely to make his way up the pecking order too quickly when he returns from injury, even if his pace makes him stand out. It would be something of a shock if Walcott moved to Old Trafford, but that is the deal that has been made the most likely in odds terms. Actual Likelihood Of Move: Don't bank on it. It's unlikely United would stump up the necessary money to bring the England man to Old Trafford with an injury record like his hanging over him - and it's unlikely Arsenal would do their rivals any favours in knocking down the price to reflect that.
