10 Players Newcastle Have Been Linked To At The Euro U-21 Championships

7. Michael Keane (England)

Age: 22 Position: Centre-Back Club: Burnley Nationality: English Estimated market value: £2.5 million League Appearances (Goals) 2014-15: 21 (0) International Under-21 Caps (Goals): 16 (3) When Steve McClaren arrived at Derby County, Michael Keane was on loan at the club from Manchester United. The 22-year-old centre-back was struggling for fitness and returned to his parent club before moving to Blackburn Rovers and then Burnley on loan, completing a permanent transfer to the latter in January. Yet the 19-cap England Under-21 international is known to want Premier League football - something he will no longer receive at Turf Moor. Should McClaren decide he saw enough in the former Man United youth defender to strengthen an area of the Newcastle team that is desperately lacking in depth, then the 6ft 2in centre-back could soon receive a call from the Magpies. Already linked with the Magpies in recent months, Keane would be a cheap defensive option should McClaren elect to sign him.
