Carlos Tevez must have wished he hadn't bothered going to Manchester City considering all the grief it caused him. First, after controversially leaving Manchester United in 2009 to move to the Blue half of town, a massive billboard was erected in the centre of Deansgate beating the Argentine's likeness and taunting United fans, ensuring the striker would be despised by half of Salford thereafter. Then, when his City career finally started in earnest, he was at the heart of another controversy when, in September 2011, he was accused of refusing to come off the bench as a substitute during a Champions League clash with Bayern Munich. A furious Roberto Mancini declared that he would never play for the club again and Tevez was placed on 'Gardening Leave' until February the following year. Tevez would come back and make amends by helping City win the Premier League title in 2012, but he left for Juventus 12 months later, bringing to an end a highly-controversial spell in England.
