10 Players Who Probably Regret Joining Man City

1. Robinho

On 1 September 2008, on the final day of the transfer window, Robinho completed a £33 million move from Real Madrid as a statement of intent from Manchester City€™s new owners, the Abu Dhabi United Group. The Arab investment company had just seized control of the Citizens, and wanted to make a €œmarquee signing€ to announce their, and City's arrival on the big stage.

Unfortunately for Robinho and his new club, the striker would have been better off staying in Spain. Instead of living up to his form at Real, where he had scored 25 goals, the Brazilian instead lasted just two seasons at City and failed to set English football alight as promised.

Thins started well enough - the South American star marked his debut season in England with a respectable 14 goals in 31 appearances - but he then suffered through a dire patch of form in his second campaign, starting just 10 league games in what turned out to be his last season at Eastlands before he was flogged out on loan to Santos and eventually sold to Milan.
