10 Players Who Probably Regret Joining Spurs

10. Giovani Dos Santos

Once named in a list of the 'Top 50 Most Exciting Teen Footballers' by World Soccer Magazine, Giovani Dos Santos arrived from Barcelona in 2008 after rising through the youth set-up of the Spanish giants. Tottenham paid a reported ‚6 million fee for Giovani's services, with an additional ‚5 million depending on appearances for the London club, so one would presume the The Lilywhites saved a bit of damage to their bank balance throughout the years, as the Mexican winger could only manage 15 league outings in four seasons. Dos Santos spent most of this time with Spurs on loan away from the club, with Ipswich, Galatasaray, Racing Santander and Mallorca, and despite suffering relegation with Mallorca, Dos Santos finally began to provide the flair and consistent performances he had once promised. In 2013, Giovani signed for Villarreal, finally parting ways with Tottenham, and ending a disastrous spell defined by limited chances. Unfortunately for Spurs, but fortunately for the player, he then went on to develop further, scoring 12 goals and providing 8 assists last season - something Tim Sherwood could've desperately done with - proving that he really wasn't suited to his time at Spurs.
