10 Players Who Should Regret Turning Down Man Utd

7. Henrik Larsson

It was a move that shocked many, considering the player was in his mid-thirties at the time, but it was ultimately a successful one with the striker finishing up winning a Premier League title with the Red Devils. And he wishes he had stayed longer. When the Swedish league resumed in March, Larsson returned to Helsinborgs, despite repeated pleas from Sir Alex Ferguson for him to extend his stay at Old Trafford. 'If there is one regret I have from my career, it is that I came home to Sweden when Mr Ferguson was trying to get me to stay at Manchester United," Larsson admitted in 2010.

'I should have stayed at United for longer because I had a great time there and everyone at the club was very keen to keep me. My time there was too short.

'The whole experience was fantastic and, although I was 35 at the time, I still felt that I had some good football in me. That is a regret.'
