10 Players Sam Allardyce Could Bring With Him To Sunderland
5. Andy Carroll
Don't shoot the messenger, I didn't say any of these players would necessarily be good signings, or popular, but would Andy Carroll ever pull on the red and white stripes? Allardyce loves a target man, and in Carroll, West Ham had one of the most dominant aerial strikers in the league. Or at least, they would have if Carroll didn't spend unbelievable lengths of time on the treatment table. West Ham's patience must be running out with their mega-signing, so could Allardyce offer a cut-price exit to the geordie who could move closer to his family in the North East, and compete for more first team football at Sunderland? Carroll's signing would be unpopular, but purely objectively, he's got potential to be a powerful force up front if he can stay fit. Is he too much of a risk for Sam?
