10 Players That Leicester City Could Sign To Avoid Relegation

6. Jeremy Toulalan (Monaco)

Another of Claudio Ranieri's former players that he could potentially reunite with. Throughout his career, Jeremy Toulalan, 31, has consistently played at the top level. He has enjoyed spells at AS Monaco, Olympique Lyon and Malaga and has put in steady performances for all of these clubs. As a result, he would provide crucial experience and leadership to a weakened Leicester City midfield. Having made over 400 appearances in total throughout his esteemed career, Toulalan would be a welcome addition to the Foxes' team. The defensive midfielder is strong in the tackle and very effective when thwarting any opposition attacks, an attribute that has allowed him to collect nearly 40 caps for the France national team since his debut in 2006 (also something that convinced Ranieri to bring him to the Stade Louis II in 2013). So, like Inan and Mendy, the Frenchman would give some crucial defensive support to Leicester. However, with him only scoring six goals and providing 15 assists throughout his club career, he would not bring the creative finesse that popular Argentine Esteban Cambiasso brought to the King Power Stadium. Also, whether Toulalan is tempted by a reunion with Claudio Ranieri remains to be seen. The current Monaco captain may be comfortable in the South of France, so might not be willing to embark on a potential relegation battle at Leicester.
