After bursting onto the scene in 2013/14, Raheem Sterling very nearly wrote his name into Anfield history as Liverpool went agonisingly close to ending their excruciating wait for a first Premier League title. Since then, though, its gone very sour for the young England international. Having seen star man Luis Suarez depart for Barcelona last summer, Liverpool struggled to mount a serious title bid in 2014/15. Meanwhile, Sterling continued to perform on the pitch, but questions soon surfaced about his future at the club after some poorly handled interviews regarding his contract. With Gerrrard leaving Liverpool this summer, Sterling is one of the Reds few genuine stars. However, the 20-year-old clearly has ambitions of playing Champions League football and lifting silverware. You cant really blame him, especially if he can command more money too. The shenanigans havent shown any hint of relenting, as Sterling failed to report back to Liverpools first two days of pre-season training. A big money move to Manchester City looks inevitable. In truth, he easily warrants the step up in quality.
