The midfielder scored the goal that kept the Magpies in the Premier League last season yet his form has been patchy at best over the past 18 months for Newcastle. Should Steve McClaren convince Sissoko to give him at least another season on Tyneside, and should Sissoko then rediscover the form all Toon fans know he is capable of, then Alan Pardew's favourite phrase of "he's like a new signing" would be able to be aptly applied to the Frenchman...
