The 21-year-old Burundi-born midfielder was labelled as Cheick Tiote's replacement-in-waiting during his first season on Tyneside, but it simply hasn't happened for him in the last couple of years. Struck down by a mystery illness throughout the 2014-15 campaign, Bigi did not make a single appearance for Rangers despite moving with the other four Newcastle players north of the border in February. Unseen in a Magpies first-team shirt since a League Cup tie in 2013, Bigirimana could be labelled as "like a new signing" by Steve McClaren if the 5ft 9in midfielder somehow manages to claw himself back into contention.
