10 Players Who Probably Regret Joining Aston Villa
3. Micah Richards
After falling out of favour at Manchester City and failing to impress in a loan spell at Fiorentina, moving back to Birmingham - the city of his birth - to represent Aston Villa seemed to tick all of the boxes for Micah Richards.
He was even named as captain for the club's opening Premier League fixture of the 2015-16 and he led Villa to a 1-0 win away at Bournemouth but things soon turned sour for the England international.
His presence in the team could not shore up a defence that were unable to keep clean sheets and boss Tim Sherwood was soon replaced by Remi Garde, but the Frenchman soon lost faith in Richards.
He was drafted in and out of the side as the West Midlands giants succumbed tamely to relegation and with the club's supporters growing increasingly hostile with the performances of the current squad, he may find himself shipped out in the summer.
That may come as a relief for Richards but gone are the days where Premier League giants are lining up to sign him. His only hope seems to be with teams at the bottom end of the table and if nothing materialises with them, expect him to leave British football.
