10 Players Who Probably Regret Leaving Leeds United
8. David Healy
Given his excellent scoring record for Northern Ireland, there was a perception that David Healy was a regular goalscorer in the Football League but during three years in the Championship between 2004 and 2007, he never scored more than 12 goals.
It was after failing to help Leeds United remain in the division during the 2006-07 campaign that he jumped at the chance to reunite with former national team boss Lawrie Sanchez at Premier League Fulham but it proved to be a step up too far for the forward who scored just four goals in 15 starts and 15 substitute appearances at Craven Cottage.
After Sanchez was sacked and replaced by Roy Hodgson, Healy fell down the pecking order at the West London outfit and although he would move to Sunderland soon afterwards, one goal in 13 games off the bench saw him begin loan spells back in the Football League.
Healy would never regain the form that he had previously showed at Leeds and in six years following his departure, he never scored more than six goals in a single season and struggled to find the back of the net in the closing stages of his international career.
