10 Players Who Probably Regret Leaving Spurs

4. Scott Parker

Stephen Pond/EMPICS SportStephen Pond/EMPICS SportScott Parker finally found his place at Tottenham Hotspur - he didn't seem to fit in anywhere else - and therefore it was a real shame when he left. At Charlton Athletic, Parker stood out a mile. As a result, he earned a movie to Chelsea. He was mostly overlooked at Stamford Bridge, apparently deemed not good enough. A move to Newcastle United followed where, like his time at Charlton, he was head and shoulders above everyone else. He then moved to West Ham United where, in his final season, he played so well that he was named Football Writers' Association Footballer of the Year despite the Hammers being relegated. Having played four games of West Ham's Championship campaign, he finally signed for Spurs. In his two seasons at the club, he was one of their stand-out performers but, for the first time in his career, he neither looked too good or not good enough for the team he was playing for. He became an England regular and his reputation grew and grew. Sadly for him, he was sold to Fulham in 2013. He hasn't played for England since and the club have just been relegated to the Championship, with Parker still on the books. At 33 years old (nearly 34), it is unlikely that his career will improve.
