10 Players Who Proved Life Isn't Always Better After Newcastle

1. Yohan Cabaye

Ahhh, the lure of going home to a club in the Champions League thinking you'll be playing in huge games every single week... Well, Yohan has done everything but this as he has made himself a second home on the Paris Sain Germain substitute's bench. He has managed to get on the field 53 times during his year-and-a-half in the French capital, but most of them have been short cameos off the bench while the likes of Blaise Matuidi, Marco Verratti and even Thiago Motta have ran Les Rouge-et-Bleu's midfield. Do you think he regrets leaving Newcastle? Although, he will have undoubtedly picked up more in wages, lives in a lovely place (not saying that Newcastle isn't lovely but you know what I mean), and has won two Ligue 1 titles, last season's Coupe de France, and two Coupe de la Ligue. The sort of accolades he wouldn't have tucked away in a shoebox under his bed if he had stayed at St James' Park. The summer transfer window so far has been dominated about rumours of where the dreamboat will be playing his football next season. The handsome devil has even come out in the press himself and told of his unhappiness and desire to leave the Parc des Princes. It's safe to say he would be afforded one hell of a reception if Mike Ashley scraps his rulebook on the age of players he will allow the club to sign, and United's former midfield Chief returned. If he ends up at Crystal Palace with Alan Pardew it's fair to say the riot that was threatened by United fans who chanted his now infamous song could actually happen...
