10 Players Who Proved Life Isn't Always Better After Newcastle
7. Loic Remy
Once more, no one can blame Loic Remy for leaving Newcastle United. He is a player who deserves to be plying his trade at the very top of the game and is simply too good to be at a mid-to-lower Premier League club like The Magpies are under Mike Ashley. This proved to be true when Premier League runners-up Liverpool had him in for a medical before would-be champions elect Chelsea came calling. However, after just one season as a Jose Mourinho player, rumours of Remy being unhappy are becoming all too frequent with the likes of West Ham being strongly linked with his signature. The forward did make 29 appearances for The Blues last term, scoring nine goals. But many of those were from the bench as Diego Costa, and even Didier Drogba at times were picked ahead of him. It's great to see that the French international isn't the mercenary that many thought he was when he turned Newcastle down in January 2013 in favour of a move to QPR, but he would certainly have started each and every game he was available for if he stayed at St James' Park which would have kept his bottom lip from quivering today. It looks like he'll be starting all over again this summer when another big club comes in for him. Imagine if he stayed at Newcastle, he could be settled in a lovely penthouse on the Quayside now...
