When Tore Andre Flo left Chelsea to sign for Rangers, it came as a shock to almost everyone, especially supporters of the Scottish giants who had seen their club break their transfer record to sign the Norwegian forward. Although he failed to win the league title in Scotland, Flo lived up to his billing, scoring 29 league goals in his first two seasons, but a third season did not materialise as Rangers sold him to Sunderland. It was a transfer that would see Flo leave the best days of his career behind him. Despite Sunderland breaking their club record for his signature, he scored just four league goals during his year-long stay on Wearside before moving to Italy with Siena. Although far from prolific, he helped the club remain in Italy's top flight but he would end his spell with the Bianconeri having netted 17 times in three seasons - a far cry from the 2001-02 campaign where he scored 22 times in one year. Flo is fondly remembered at both Chelsea and Rangers but he should have achieved more in his career, rather than spending the latter stages as a professional struggling to score in League One for the likes of Leeds United and MK Dons.
