NUFC: 1962 - 1971 (244 games, 97 goals) SAFC: 1974 - 1976, 1979 - 1981, 1983 - 1984 (182 games, 68 goals combined) Despite being born in Sunderland the follicly-challenged striker began his career at Newcastle in 1962 and scored on his debut against Charlton in a 1-0 victory two years later. Robson spent nine seasons at St James' Park winning the Division Two title and also achieving European success in 1969 with his deadly alliance with Wyn Davies in attack underpinning our our Inter-Cities Fairs Cup triumph. Defected to the dark side in 1974 by joining his hometown club following a three-year stint at West Ham and would go on to play for the Mackems twice more and became a hero on Wearside thanks to his ability to find the net with alarming regularity in a red and white shirt.
Finally left Roker Park at the end of his third spell in 1984 but continued his association with the Black Cats in a coaching capacity before being employed as their chief scout in 2011. He lasted just under two years before he was sacked by chairman Ellis Short.
