10 Players You Completely Forgot Played For Manchester United

Even the biggest club in the world has some forgettable faces.

Manchester United are one of the biggest clubs in world football and continue to set the bar in commercial terms for the Premier League.

Despite no league titles since Sir Alex Ferguson gave up the reins over six years ago now, United are still a big draw and we saw their pulling power on show this summer with the mega-money signing of Harry Maguire.

While United have had their fair share of superstars and recognisable faces over the years with the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo and David Beckham among those to don the famous red shirt, it's safe to say there are a few who don't sit high in the memory bank.

Understandable for a club who produce so much young talent and spend plenty in the transfer market, United have seen a plethora of players come and go over the years.

For every Beckham or Ronaldo, United have seen a Kleberson or Djemba-Djemba grace the Old Trafford pitch, while players who came with so much expectation have often failed to deliver under the pressure.

There's not necessarily anyone you can pin the blame on for forgettable spells at United, but there's been plenty of players who you won't even remember wore the United jersey.

10. Victor Valdes

Signed back in 2015 following a spell of rehabilitation with the Red Devils, Valdes was expected to prove ample cover and if anything, challenge David De Gea for the number one spot.

A player who had won everything with Barcelona previoulsy, it never got going for Valdes at United, as he was restricted to just two appearances in an ill-fated 12 month spell with the club.

A loan spell with Standard Liege over in Belgium followed, before the Spanish international was shipped out to Middlesbrough on a permanent deal for the 2015/16 season.

It's a shame really that someone of Valdes' stature never quite got the recognition he deserved for taking the plunge and moving to England, and despite it only happening four years ago, he's already a forgotten man.

Valdes is now safely back home with Barcelona where he serves as a coach in the youth set up for the La Liga giants.
