This would have been a fantastic coup. Attempts to buy the Sevilla man on transfer deadline day in January 2013 ultimately petered out. He has since moved to Manchester City where he, Aguero and Dzeko helped bring back the title. His 70 goals in 139 appearances for Sevilla are particularly impressive. With Negredo in tow for the second half of the 2012-3 season and all of last year, Everton could have easily secured Champions League football once more. Sevilla's £9m+ price tag and Negredo's desire to finish out the season with his old club was a huge missed opportunity for the Toffees. Where are the Sheikh and Oligarch when you need them most?!
