10 Players You Forgot Played For Real Madrid
1. Samuel Eto'o
The only player in history to win back to back trebles, Samuel Eto'o was a perennial journeyman who plied his trade with 12 different clubs in six different leagues across the globe.
He's fondly remembered for the immense success he enjoyed at Barcelona and Inter Milan, but not many are aware that he was on the books of Real Madrid too once upon a time.
The Cameroon legend in fact, came through the ranks of the club's youth academy in 1997. After a season long loan spell with Leganes in the Segunda Division, he returned to the Santiago Bernabeu, but never got the opportunity to shine.
Eto'o made only three league appearances across two seasons which was also interspersed with loan spells to Espanyol and Mallorca, for which he signed permanently in 2000.
Los Blancos lost a truly valuable prospect here given everything he went on to achieve, and to add insult to the injury, Eto'o later won the Champions League title with the Nerazzurris in 2010 in their own backyard!
