10 Premier League Transfers That Won't Happen This Summer

2. Samuel Eto'o To Liverpool

Chelsea cast-off Samuel Eto'o has been linked with a number of Premier League sides this summer after being released by the Blues with Liverpool reportedly keen on the unwanted Cameroonian. But such a transfer would surely be ridiculous. The Reds are in the market for a top forward to replace Luis Suarez - not a has-been - and at 33, Eto'o's best days are firmly in the past. Replacing Suarez - the third best player in the world who struck a killer 31 Premier League goals last season - with an ageing and worn out veteran who scored nine last term would be a ludicrous move from Brendan Rodgers, particularly as he washed his hands of Loic Remy for apparently being unfit. Eto'o would probably demand wages of about £100,000-per-week, and would be a strain on the club's finances rather than the solution to their Suarez conundrum. Liverpool don't need the former Barcelona man, and surely won't sanction a move this summer. A move to Tottenham Hotspur seems the more likely option, with Spurs among a list of English suitors.
