10 Premier League Transfers That Won't Happen This Summer

3. Morgan Schneiderlin To Spurs

Morgan Schneiderlin has been at loggerheads with Southampton over the last few weeks as the midfielder desperately tries to engineer a move away from the club with Tottenham Hotspur interested. The Saints have already sold a plethora of players with the likes of Luke Shaw, Adam Lallana and Rickie Lambert moving on but have told Schneiderlin that he's going nowhere. The Frenchman effectively went on strike last week as a result, claiming he wasn't "mentally or physically ready to play" in his side's last pre-season game before the start of the Premier League this weekend. However, he has since softened that stance and has returned to training with the south coast club, apparently accepting that he won't be sold this summer. Having taken such a firm and very public approach to the Schneiderlin drama this summer, it isn't likely Southampton will cave in and sell, for that would make them look weak in the transfer market, and they can't afford to lose any more stars having already seen so many walk out the door. It seems reasonable to expect the midfielder to stay at St Mary's.
