10 Reasons Luis Suarez Is Irreplacable At Liverpool

6. No Champions League

As soon as Suarez sunk his teeth into the shoulder of Giorgio Chielleni, it looked as if Liverpool would have an uphill battle to maintain a Champions League spot. With Arsenal sniffing around the likes of Alexis Sanchez and Sami Khedira, and Chelsea having already added Cesc Fabregas and Diego Costa to their ranks, Liverpool needed their one world-class talent in their ranks for a full season if they were to have a chance at maintaining a European spot. However, with Suarez removed from the club completely, there doesn€™t seem to be any feasible way that the club could possibly sneak into a Champions League berth. With Chelsea, Man City and Arsenal littered with world-class talents and the Van Gaal revolution ready to take off, a Suarez-less Liverpool doesn€™t stand a chance. There also seems to be a decent aura around Spurs this season, with Mauricio Pochettino on board, and if Roberto Martinez can continue the good work he managed at Merseyside rivals Everton last season, then Liverpool could be in danger of slipping back to square one €“ where they were during their life before Suarez. The last thing Rodgers wants at this stage is for the title challenge, and especially their Champions League campaign, to be a fluke throughout his stint on Merseyside.
