10 Reasons Tom Brady IS The Greatest NFL Quarterback Of All Time
7. Only Had A True Number One Receiver For Two Seasons
Speaking of Jerry Rice, he was the number one Wide Receiver for Joe Montana between 1985 and 1992, becoming arguably the most potent Quarterback-Wide Receiver combination that the NFL has ever seen in that time. On the other hand, Tom Brady has only ever had two seasons where he has had a true number one Wide Receiver, beginning in 2007 when the Patriots acquired Randy Moss in a trade from the Oakland Raiders. That 2007 season was, until that point, Brady's best. He threw for 4,806 yards and a then NFL record 50 touchdowns that season, while Moss had 98 catches for 1,493 yards and a NFL record 23 touchdowns, in the first of Brady's two MVP seasons. After Brady missed almost all of 2008 with a torn ACL, they teamed up again in 2009 and although Brady wasn't at his best as he was still getting comfortable on the field again following his injury, Moss still had 83 catches for 1,264 yards and 13 touchdowns. Although, the Patriots did not win a Super Bowl with Moss in New England (they lost Super Bowl XLII), Brady showed demonstrated what he could do with players that are the equivalent of a number one wide receiver.
