10 Reasons Why Man City Fans Are Jealous Of Man United
7. The Rivalry With Other Clubs
City aren't Manchester United's only rivals. The bitter relationship between the reds of Merseyside and the reds of Manchester is generally considered to be one of the fiercest in world football. Both clubs claim to be 'the greatest English football club' and are the 2 most successful to grace the English game.
That rivalry has extended to the players, particularly more recently with the tempestuous relationship between Patrice Evra and Luis Suarez dominating headlines. Suarez was banned for 8 games after being found guilty of racist abuse and the club stood by him by wearing t-shirts in support of the Uruguayan.
During the nineties and early noughties the stormy and sometimes brutal battles between Arsenal and United were mesmerising. Roy Keane versus Patrick Vieira became a match-up that absolutely fascinated football fans, culminating in a pre-match tunnel bust-up in which Keane confronted Vieira, apparently sticking up for Gary Neville. And who can forget pizza gate? United had just ended Arsenal's 49 game unbeaten run and the fallout spilled in to the tunnel again, with Sir Alex Ferguson on the receiving end of a cheese and tomato surprise.
More recently the Mourinho versus Ferguson encounters have had the tactics geeks salivating.
City simply don't have that kind of relationship with any other club. It is United and only United.
