10 Relegated Players Who Deserve To Play In Premier League Next Season

3. Tom Carroll (Swansea)

Some great midfielders have dropped down to the Championship. Stoke's Joe Allen is one prime example, but the Welsh international has vowed to stay with the Potters, so any Premier League clubs hoping to raid a relegated side for midfield reinforcements might instead consider a move for Swansea's Tom Carroll.

Formerly of Spurs, Carroll couldn't quite cut it with the London side but has looked a fine player with Swansea, appearing in all but one of their Premier League clashes last season and doing his bit for the club's cause with four assists. With impressive pass accuracy ratings, excellent crosses and smart set piece deliveries, Carroll consistently demonstrated all of the attributes that once saw him compared with some of the game's greatest midfielders.

The physical side of his game could do with some work and he could be a little more clinical in attacking moves, but Carroll is good enough to stay in the top flight and could be a real gem of a signing for a mid-table club.
