10 Shocking Sunderland Departures That Nobody Expected
9. Jack Colback
The most recent departure on the list, and perhaps the most hated (currently, at least). Colback shouldn't expect a warm welcome back to the Stadium of Light in April's Tyne and Wear derby. After being brought up through the club's academy system and fighting his way into the first team, Colback shocked supporters by allowing his contract to expire and moving to arch-rivals Newcastle. The move showed a startling lack of loyalty and class, many arguing that Colback should have at least given the club a chance to sell him for a fee, paying them back for his development and years of Premier League football. His delighted antics after scoring in the 3-0 win at St James' Park were also called into question - why on earth did he shush the crowd of his boyhood team if he was so keen to join them?
