Premier League: 10 Shocking Transfers That Could Happen In January

8. Demba Ba Back To Newcastle

With the future of on-loan Loic Remy still up in the air, Newcastle could find themselves in the market for a striker. Remy has been brilliant for the Magpies this season but with the possibility that he may yet return to parent club QPR, Alan Pardew cannot count on him with any degree of certainty. And, with former player Demba Ba slipping down the pecking order at Chelsea since quitting St James' Park last January, a return to the north east could be back on the cards. Newcastle are keen on taking Ba back on loan but may have to pay a £3 million fee to be reacquainted with the Senegal striker. Why would it be shocking? Ba quit the Magpies in a flash last winter when Chelsea came in. Newcastle fans may not be quite as quick to welcome him back to the club. The £3 million loan fee may prove disruptive also.
