9. Ilkay Gundogan To Man United

Manchester United's midfield problems have been there for all to see this season, with David Moyes's side languishing in seventh place in the Premier League. Moyes needs to sign a new midfielder this month if he is to have any hope of salvaging his debut season in charge of the Red Devils, and reports suggest he is monitoring Borussia Dortmund's Ilkay Gundogan. Gundogan is out of contract next summer and Real Madrid have also been alerted to his current situation in Germany, with the playmaker putting in some brilliant performances over the last couple of seasons. His passing abilities and technical qualities would provide United with the creativity their midfield is so badly lacking at present. Why would it be shocking? Dortmund would be loath to lose yet another of their prized assets after it was announced Robert Lewandowski will be leaving to join domestic rivals Bayern Munich this summer.
