10 Strangest Ever Man City Transfers

10. Bacary Sagna

Adam Davy/EMPICS SportAdam Davy/EMPICS SportManchester City have grown accustomed to swooping for Arsenal stars over the years. Emmanuel Adebayor, Gaƫl Clichy, Samir Nasri and Kolo Toure have all swapped the Emirates for the Etihad in the past. But those players at least were in the prime of their careers, and left in big money moves. That cannot be said of Bacary Sagna. Sagna became just the latest of a growing list of former Gunners to join City this summer, and it's a transfer that leaves you a little puzzled when you stop to consider the fact the Frenchman is 31. You have to wonder how much longevity City are going to get from this deal, with the veteran defender very much in the winter of his career. Pablo Zabaleta is once more expected to be the Citizen's first-choice right-back next season, which also leaves you wondering just how often Sagna is going to be out on the pitch. The bench likely awaits the former Arsenal man, who may come to regret leaving London.
