8. Rohan Ricketts
Nigel French/EMPICS SportRohan Ricketts wasn't the first player to move between Arsenal and Spurs - and he certainly won't be the last - but in previous cases, such as the transfer of Sol Campbell to Arsenal from White Hart Lane in the season before Ricketts went the other way, it was usually all about signing a big player when the team in question was performing better than their rivals. In Ricketts' case, he was an Arsenal youth player. He won the FA Youth Cup in 2000 and 2001 with the club and had only just made his debut for them in a League Cup match against Manchester United. Between 2002 and 2005, Ricketts did okay for Spurs, making thirty league appearances, scoring one goal and even being considered for an England call-up. His career has since gone downhill in emphatic fashion. In addition to the likes of Wolves and Queens Park Rangers, he's played for (take a deep breath) Toronto F.C. in Canada, Diósgyri VTK in Hungary, F.C. Dacia Chiinu in Moldova, S.V. Wilhelmshaven in a German regional league, Shamrock Rovers in Ireland, Exeter City back in England, Dempo S.C. in India, Club Deportivo Quevedo in Ecuador and PTT Rayong F.C. in Thailand. He is now a free agent.
