This summer could be the one for Mauro Icardi. The 25-year-old Argentine has been Inter Milan's top scorer in the last four seasons, netting 100 goals in 159 Serie A appearances. He's also been the top overall scorer in Serie A twice in the last four years, and his latest season was also his best ever, with 29 goals in 34 league games.

For a few years now, Icardi has seemed to fly under the radar. Despite his brilliant performances in the Italian top division, he never seems to have caught the eye of Europe's biggest clubs. All of that might be about to change however, as recent rumours have linked Icardi with a big money move to Real Madrid as a possible replacement for Cristiano Ronaldo.

Marca has reported that Madrid might be willing to pay Icardi's eye-watering release clause of 110 million euros. The Argentine seems to have all the skills needed to become one of the top rated strikers in the world. He's proven himself in Italy, and the time seems right for him to show what he can do in another league.
