10 Summer Premier League Signings We Won't See The Best Of Until Next Season

3. Davinson Sanchez - Tottenham Hotspur

The defender made a very assured debut in Tottenham’s 3-0 win over Everton on Saturday. Despite boasting little experience - he only had one season at Ajax before joining Spurs - he appears to have the physical and technical tools to make it in the Premier League.

A problem for him this season might be displacing a regular in Mauricio Pochettino’s trusted starting XI. When Victor Wanyama is fit again, he is likely to return to the side in midfield, leaving Pochettino with the choice of Sanchez or Eric Dier in his three-man defence.

With Spurs active in four competitions, Sanchez will clock up the appearances, but he might find himself in and out of the team and that will make adapting to English football that little bit harder. But the 21-year-old is playing under a manager who is renowned for improving young players. Once he forces his way into the starting XI, there will be no looking back.
