10 Summer Premier League Signings We Won't See The Best Of Until Next Season

2. Will Hughes - Watford

Will Hughes was linked with a move to the Premier League for so long that it is easy to forget that he is only 22 years old. After being tipped to join Liverpool and Man United, it was Watford that eventually gambled on one of the Championship’s best creative talents.

And yet Hughes is still having to wait for his first taste of the top flight. He has not featured in Watford’s opening four games, of which they have won two and drawn the others.

The Hornets are a very unstable side, having experienced a sizeable squad overhaul this summer to mark the arrival of yet another new manager. It will probably take half a season for Marco Silva to land on his best team, and realise that Hughes should be a member of it. With a six-month grace period, it won’t be until next season that Hughes truly shines.
