10 Summer Premier League Signings We Won't See The Best Of Until Next Season
1. Oliver Burke - West Bromwich Albion
The tale of Oliver Burke is a strange one. Courted by some of the Premier League's elite last summer, the then Nottingham Forest winger was smuggled onto a plane to complete a late transfer to Red Bull Leipzig. Twelve months later, he is back in England with West Brom.
Burke was reduced to a throwaway substitute role in Germany. He made only five Bundesliga starts, and half of his 20 other appearances came after the 80th minute.
Although it is early days, he has been used similarly so far by Tony Pulis, and it will take some serious impact from the bench for Burke to persuade one of England’s more cautious managers to make the flying winger a regular starter. It might take him a season to earn the trust of Pulis, but the Albion boss will soon realise what a hot talent he has on his hands.
