When Jose Antonio Reyes joined the Gunners in January 2004, he was supposed to form the final piece in Wengers already highly talented puzzle. Sadly, on a more personal note, things never really quite went to plan for the skilled Spaniard. Reyes scored just twice during the second half of Arsenals historic Invincibles campaign, followed by just 14 more over the next two seasons. He then headed to Real Madrid on loan in 2006, with Julio Baptista moving the other way, before making a permanent return to Spain by joining Atletico. The highly-rated star claimed a Premier League and an FA Cup winners medal during his time in England but, individually, he struggled to live up to the expectations of north London. Nevertheless, a La Liga titles and four Europa League triumphs is a testimony to his obvious ability. It just never really worked at Arsenal.
